neat, sweet, petite, so get a witches shawl on, a broomstick you can crawl on, we're gonna pay a call on, the Addams family

When this image popped up on my Tumblr feed, I had to look into it to see if it was legit:

So many awesome things in this photo, my favourites are the hookah and the black roses. Source

Their house is definitely a museum! Upon further investigation I deducted that it is true, the original Addams Family television show was a full colour set just shot with black and white film. Maybe this is obvious, now that I think about it, why would they have all black and white props and... yeah that makes no sense. Of course no matter what, in real life when they were shooting it would be full colour BUT I guess what I mean to say is that I didn't expect it to be so vibrant. And because it is, I am obsessed!

The show aired from 1964-1966 so it is basically a dreamy retro 60's home except not dreamy because it's the Addams Family, duh!

60's Avon lipstick

I've been looking at vintage Avon products on Flickr, Pinterest, and Etsy. Here is a quick edit I did of some cool lipsticks from an Avon ad dated April 1966 (from The Ladies' Home Journal) via The Bees Knees Daily on Flickr

"Two for the sun... two for the moon! Avon tints your lips with pinks and corals - shimmery and chic in prints. Do collect a pair or two of these saucy new lipsticks for making merry, for sheer charm. Only your Avon Representative can bring you the new 'Chic Sparklers' with matching nail enamel. Whether you shimmer by sun or moon is up to you!"
