100th blog post

I started this blog in 2010, when I was 19 years old. My first post was July 4th, 2010. I have changed a lot since then and the content of this blog has changed a lot, too. However, for some reason I've stuck with it even through taking month long breaks without posting. Lately I've been coming across content that I want to blog about and that is fueling me to post about stuff and write about stuff.

This is my 100th post, and I decided to have it be one I'd always planned on publishing at some point but had never gotten around to. This blog is a sort of archive of a lot of things I like; fashion, art, photography, etc. It's turning into an archive of all sorts of great things I've came across (mostly via the Internet) and the list is always growing. I have a million ideas for blog posts and two million links saved on my computer, referencing things I want to post about on here. But I felt I should do something special for my 100th post, and this one is long overdue. This post has taken me a really long time because, oh my god, it's the most huge photo post of all time. It took a REALLY long time to get all the information for each picture and for me to write down the year the picture was taken, where, what magazine it was for, possibly the name of the editorial, names of the models, or any other details available. I tried to limit this to just my favourites but it is what it is... I hope you enjoy!

This is a post about my all-time favourite photographer in the entire world (and forever until the end of time): Tim Walker. He's the best of the best; he has shot (and continues to shoot for) magazines such as Vogue, W Magazine, LOVE, and Harper's Bazaar, just to name a few. He was only 25 when he shot his first fashion story for Vogue. He has taken pictures of some of the most famous and iconic people, but he is modest. Though revered as one of the greatest fashion photographers, Tim Walker isn't that interested in the politics of fashion, and throughout his career he manages to keep a consistency in his work that not only makes him memorable and recognizable as an artist, but (in my opinion) it makes him more credible - and I'll explain why. Mr. Walker's creative genius is fueled by the inspiration he gains from the fantastical and the vision of a fairy-tale for every photo shoot and every set. At least, that's how I see it. Every photograph by Tim is utterly magical, and I thoroughly enjoyed putting together this post because it really gave me a chance to realize how many of my favourite photographs were by him, some that I had seen before and didn't know they were his, and even being able to see his influence on other people by looking at other people's posts on his work, has made my appreciation grow.

So, without further adieu; in chronological order starting from 1997, here are my favourite Tim Walker photos.

  1. AMAZING! I got lost in this post! Congrats on posting 100 times! I'm nowhere near that... I have the same exact procrastination issues and comparing myself with other people online and being self critical and junk! The best medicine IS to just keep doing what feels natural and blogging 4 fun! I had never heard of Tim Walker before this post, soooo I'm super glad I read it because now I have someone to learn about who looks awesome. Also, I'm not your mom and I read your blog!!!
